The Telecommunications Consumer Protections Code (or the TCP Code) is a code of conduct designed to ensure good service and fair outcomes for Consumers of Telecommunications Products in Australia.
All Carriage Service Providers who supply Telecommunications Products in Australia are required to comply with the Code. It includes obligations to:
- Provide a ‘Critical Information Summary‘ containing information about products in a simple to read document.
- Provide spend management tools eg. notifications when the customer is about to reach their data cap or other similar service limit.
- Provide comparative pricing information for included value products such as price of data, cost of a national call etc.
- Have a process for handling complaints quickly and efficiently.
